Language economy and language play in the Internet
The paper deals with two main factors influencing changes in language of the Internet – economy and language play. Both the factors result from the electronic character of communication (its advantages and disadvantages). The tendency to economy is studied on base of punctuation and spelling simplifications, loose syntactic structures (agrammatism) and compressive word-formations. Language play is demonstrated on base of computer jargon, nick-formation and so called “albanic language”. In many cases both the tendencies are traced being mixed up.
